Someone had a Birthday Party!

Karli had a birthday party on Saturday, July 23 at 6p.m. It was rainy(very rainy) so we had to change up the plans a bit. We ate cake and opened up presents here at the house then after we were done the rain went away and the sunshine came out so we were able to head over to my aunt and uncle's house to go swimming and grill hot dogs. I think the swimming was the highlight of the party.

Karli got lots of great things and had many of her friends and family over to celebrate with her.
She will be 9 years old tomorrow(July 26th) at 1:39a.m. Happy Birthday Karli we all love you very much!!!!

This is the cake made by my wonderful and talented cousin, Sheena! It was delicious as usual!

Wonderful Watermelon

Yesterday after Cam woke up from his nap we went outside for some watermelon and of course my camera tagged along. I wanted Karli to actually stay and eat some with him so I could have pictures of them both but she had other plans.

He wasn't so sure of what I was doing at first but then I let him play with the butter knife showing him how to cut the watermelon and that was all it took. I then sliced it open and cut him some pieces.....he gulped it down. He was so funny letting the watermelon juice drip all over him. The gnats and mosquitoes loved it too. We were both attacked by them.

I love that he loves almost every kind of fruit that I've given him. Sweet.

New things and tricks

Trying something different and I may go and change it but I have been uploading my pics through Flickr and then copying the html code over to here but gonna just add straight through blogger and see if it's okay.

Anyway, back to the post. Today we got out on the boat(2nd attempt in two days) for just a bit before the bottom fell out and Cam got to wear his new life-jacket. We all like it a whole lot better than the other one he had to wear.

These are today's attempt.

These are yesterday's attempts.

Also today he finally mastered the trick of getting into the dining room chairs. He can now get up there and sit. Darn...now how in the world can I baby proof them?!

One more thing. Some of you may remember my status update on Facebook about giving him a sippy cup to drink his night time milk with......well it has been a week and I guess the bottle is long gone.... :( He's growing  up on me.

{Somebody got a haircut}

After thinking about how many people have commented on how pretty "she" was I thought maybe we should go ahead and get his hair cut. We took him in on a kind of a spur of the moment visit and he did perfect! He sat really still and was so quiet. I was amazed that he didn't jerk around and have a huge gap. Just in case though I had taken two candy canes for him to eat if he started getting antsy.

He looks so grown up with his hair cut.

Splishing and a splashing

I don't have a picture(because he was in the buff) for this post but today I put Cam in his little pool with the slide on the side and had the most laughs, hysterical laughs at him. The pool is quite slippery and makes for a good speed when going down the slide. I put him on his back and stomach and he seems to like going face first down the slide the best. It was so funny. He would laugh so loud and then grab himself!! I also would squirt him with the sprinkler and he would squeal with delight. I will have to get a video of him going down the slide sometime and post it. You will laugh too.

Also, I got in more cloth diapers. This time I ordered some Kawaii diapers that are similar to bumGenius. Cam is still asleep so I will try them on him when he wakes up and if they fit I will be washing them. Review to come later also. I hope I like them. On a side note, I had ordered some Thirsties Fab doublers and received the package today only to find out I was sent two packs of Thirsties Fab wipes instead. Bummer cause I really need those doublers! Cam is a heavy wetter!

I have to say I give Jack Be Natural two thumbs up for the packaging and extra goodies I received in the bag. Very sweet deal.

4th of July

I have to say that this was one of the best 4th of July's in a long time! My momma and stepdad came over and we grilled out. We also made lots of sweet treats that I have been wanting to try ever since I saw them on Pinterest! If you're not Pinning you should be! Awesome site full of great ideas. I LOVE that site almost as much as I love Etsy. LOL!

We also bought Cam a small pool that he could dip into when he got hot. He was funny in that thing and so was Karli. She insisted it was her pool too so she stayed in it the whole time we were outside. Cam got in and out a few times and the last time he literally fell out of it! Too funny!

Karli made these herself. She was very proud of them and before going to bed she thanked me for letting her help. Actually her actual words were, "Thank you for helping me make those things today." :)

Yummy cupcakes that we all pitched in and made. My momma basically did it all but me and Karli iced them, added the sprinkles and Karli stuck the toppers in.

Panama City Beach Vacation

We went on a vacation to PC Beach in Florida on June 24th through the 26th. My SIL and BIL Candy and David were there with us. We left early Friday morning and arrived at the hotel around lunch. Before we were even in our room Karli was asking when we were gonna get in the beach. LOL! She asked us every so many minutes how much longer as to be expected from an excited 8 year old! I remember doing the same thing when we used to go on vacation.

After we got everything into the room we were ready to go. Our weekend consisted of swimming in the ocean, playing in the sand on the beach, relaxing under the umbrella, chasing Cam around, swimming in the pool, riding go carts, riding and looking at the scenery and shops, going to Pier Park and St. Andrew's State Park and eating...

We weren't ready to leave but when I got home I was glad! I am also working on a video of our vacation.

Shell Point

We took a short trip to Shell Point Beach in Wakulla County Florida on Tuesday, June 28 and came back on Wednesday, June 29. The plan was to stay until Thursday but I was beyond homesick(we had just got back from Panama City Beach on Sunday afternoon).

We had a lot of fun riding the golf cart, fishing out on the boat dock, eating and relaxing on the back porch. I was the first one to catch a fish, although small it still pulled which is why I love salt water fishing. I also caught a grunt fish.

We saw lots of fish jumping and several birds flying around us wanting out bait. We are wanting to go back and do some deep sea fishing out on a boat the next time we go.

I have a few videos too, so once loaded I will come back and post links.

Looks like we were going really fast but we weren't. We were on a golf cart! LOL.

Just a short clip of the view from the boat dock.

B is for Bathtime

Cam absolutely loves bathtime. He squeals, laughs and growls when he gets in. He plays with the water as it's coming out of the faucet and then finds his balls and basketball hoop and throws all of them around in the water and on the side of the tub. He rarely sits down, he pretty much stands and walks around in the tub the whole time.

I love how he looks with his hair wet and curling up everywhere and how his little feet and hands get wrinkly from the water.

When it's time to get out I wrap a towel around him and carry him into the living room to get a fresh diaper and his pajamas on. I love how clean he feels and how sweet he smells.
