{4 Month Checkup/Cam Eats!}

Today Camden has his 4 month checkup which included three immunizations; 2 shots and one by mouth/liquid. He did really good considering he got those things. Only cried for a few seconds with the second one and drank that liquid shot right on down. He weighs 16lbs. 2oz. and is 25in. long. His head was also 41cm(mine is 54cm to put things into perspective), so his head isn't all that big.

We talked about several things including his rolling and scooting/army crawling, his sleeping habits(has been in his bouncy for a week now instead of his carseat, LOL), his great head/neck control, his startle reflex and how to get him to hopefully get out of the bouncy soon and into his bed and also starting him on food! Yep...already my baby is starting solids. Only rice cereal right now but still a huge jump from just formula! He is now drinking 6 1/2-8oz. of formula.

{Playing Catch Up}

I haven't had much time to blog lately as I have returned back to work....So I will try to remember what all we have done in the past few weeks. First off, I have missed out on two flashback Monday's that I can think of and will try to go back and catch those up as I really enjoy doing them.

Now lets see. Karli turned 8 years old on July 26 and Camden turned 3 months old on that same day. I have a picture taken on that day.



We all went to the beach(Daytona) the weekend of July 23, 24, and 25th. We also took Keiser. It was Camden's first beach trip also. I think he enjoyed it! I know I did. Me and my SIL Candy hung out on the beach under the umbrella and talked while Camden slept and ate. ;) The guys and Karli stayed in the ocean almost all day Saturday. We went out to eat Friday and Saturday night(Bubba Gumps) and Camden was good each time! I have pictures of this too but haven't had time to do any.

I have taken pictures for lots of family and am still editing Candy and David's engagement pictures. They turned out really good and it was lots of fun taking them!







Camden is growing so fast...He will be rolling over soon because he's already trying. His first day at daycare was Monday, August 2nd! I thought I was gonna throw up when I left too! Still getting used to the fact that he's in a daycare because Karli never had to go. We were lucky and had family and friends to watch her. Also, Karli will be starting 3rd grade on August 30th.

{Karli's 8th Birthday Party}

We celebrated Karli's birthday on Saturday, July 17, 2010. She had several family and friends over to share in her fun day. My cousin Sheena made her a Wizards of Waverly Place birthday cake. It was really good and we also had ice cream, hot dogs, chips and dip. We all had lots of fun. Thanks to everyone that came and brought gifts!! She enjoyed all of them.

Karli will be 8 on July 26th and Camden will be 3 months!

Flashing back to July 25, 2009, Karli's 7 year birthday party. She had a luau party which was lots of fun. There were many family and friends at our house that day! Even the pets got in on the action.

{Flashback Monday} July 2009 : Week 3

{1st Boat Ride}

We got out on the boat today including Camden. He absolutely loved it. The life jacket that he has to wear looked incredibly uncomfortable but he didn't seem to mind it much. We rode pretty fast and he loved having the wind in his face. He kept his eyes closed most of the time because of it and the sun was so bright. I even dipped his feet into the water a few times which he enjoyed also.

We took the boat up into the blue hole(well one of them) where the kids swing from a rope high up in a tree and jump or rather fall into the water below. Karli and Kelsey kept wanting to get in the water in there but I wasn't gonna let them. The water looked crazy nasty in there and it was humid and hot and it just felt weird.

We rode back towards where we put the boat in and stopped by the sandbar to let the girls get in and swim. As you can tell they wasted no time jumping in.

{Flashback Monday} July 2009 : Week 2

Flashing back to last year about this time, It was July 10, 2009 and the time says 8:30p.m. Our trip to Six Flags over Georgia. This was taken as we were walking out of the park. A bad storm was coming to Atlanta and we made it out just in time. We had a blast that day. This is my BIL, Billy, and his daughter's Kelsey and Cassidy is hiding in front of her momma(who is taking the picture).



Oh this is funny to me. My grandma doesn't like us getting pictures of her especially when her hair isn't done. LOL! I just couldn't resist. I love getting pictures and she knows that. This is my cousin Lauren's little boy Owen and that's my crazy daughter behind grandma. You can see her feet! ;) This picture was taken on July 8, 2009 and the time says 3:12p.m.



Now flashing way way back. This is my daughter on the 4th of July 7 years ago (7.4.03) and the time says 3:42p.m. We were out with family at Veteran's Park in Cordele, GA waiting on the fireworks later that night. She was horrified with the sound of them!! Nevermind the crappy P&S camera quality. ;)

{Fun Times}

So this morning the UPS man was good to me and brought me a new toy. I have been waiting for this lens for almost a year! So excited to finally have it and have enjoyed playing with it today. I also got 161 "snapshots" that I ordered for Camden's photo album. I have said that this year I was gonna print his 365 pictures a little along so that way I wouldn't be so overloaded at the end of the project. I have yet to print Karlis.

Anyway here are my two posing for me today. It wasn't THAT hot but the gnats were pretty bad. Oh and that's a 3-6 month onesie on Camden and the hat is 0-3months(I know what was I thinking?!), I have to return it for a bigger size. ;)

{Flashback Monday} June 2009 : Week 5

I have been following a very good friend's(who is a wonderful photographer) blog for quite some time and recently she has started doing a Flashback Monday post where she goes back a year from the day's date and edits archived pictures. Thanks Jude for the inspiration! Since I have soooo many pictures that were left as RAW files and never were edited(not even converted from RAW to jPEG files) I thought what a great idea to get to go back through some I looked over.

So you can imagine my delight when I went back(a few days before the 5th week last year) and found some of my Papa Nelson who passed away on May 14th of this year. We were all over at Grandma's eating and I almost always have my camera in tow. I snapped a few shots last year and almost deleted them because they weren't what I thought were good enough to keep. So so glad I did.

He was the type of person who loved watching people have a good time and getting out and riding the country and town to see all of the happenings of the day. He was a goodhearted and warm person who often joked with us grandkids and his great grandkids and had a memory as sharp as a tack! If I had known that a year from this date he wouldn't be with us I would've filled my camera up with pictures of us together. I miss him so so much! Love you Papa.

{2 Months Old}

Camden turned two months old on Saturday(6.26.10). I can't believe it's been two months already. Every day he's changing whether it's how he looks, a new face he makes or new sounds he tries to make.

Some things I'd like to note about him are his likes and dislikes.

Likes

• Studying people's faces
• Watching tv(especially bright cartoons like Chuggington or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse)
• Being outside
• Being held/rocked
• Riding in the car
• Vibrating in his bouncy
• Laughing and smiling at the two deer heads on our wall
• Sitting with his Sissy
• Taking a bath
• Having someone laugh and talk to him
• Getting his diaper changed(yeah)
• Being tickled
  

Dislikes

• Laying on his back
• Being in his crib unless he's just gotten out of the bath
• Being ignored
• Darkness
• Lots of commotion
• Getting his clothes put on
• Waiting on getting fed

That's how he looks right here anyway. He's growing so fast. Who told him to do that? ;) I just love him so much!

{A New Member}

Of our family was born on April 26, 2010. Here's a little of Camden's Birth Story..

Monday, April 26, 2010 I had a drs. appt. at 2:00p.m. My best friend, Amanda went with me. I saw Dr. Edmondson and his assistant(intern I think). He listened to Cam's heartbeat and he also stripped my membranes for the 2nd time. I began cramping immediately. We left the appt. and went on our way. On the way home I cramped a lot. When I got home I was overwhelmingly tired and layed on the bed for several hours; still cramping. I remember getting on my knees, crouching over some pillows because the contractions were so uncomfortable(also I though it would help him move down ;) ). Around 7 something that afternoon the contractions started getting stronger and closer together(maybe every 2-3minutes). At about 8:03p.m. I sat down in the recliner with a notepad to time the contractions, as I went to let the chair out I felt a pop and then a gush of water. I ran to the bathroom! I immediately started praying that we would make it to the hospital and that I could deal with the contractions. I knew I was in for it!!!! and boy was I right!

I called my momma and asked her to come to the house to help me get everything into the car because my water had just broke. Our windows were still up and I had several things to put in the car. I also called my SIL who had my daughter and told her to bring her home so that I could see her before I went into the hospital. They all arrived within 10 minutes and my contractions were no longer bearable.

We soon got on our way to the hospital at 8:40 something. When we got there we took the stairs up to the 2nd floor(scared of elevators, closed in spaces), also didn't want it to get stuck and my have no way to get pain meds! Got to the 2nd floor and the I told the lady why I was there and she had me sign some papers. After I screamed a few times in pain she ushered me into a room. I was in the room in the bed at 9:03p.m. I barely got changed before I was on the bed screaming for my epidural. They stuck me 4 times trying to get my IV in and the head nurse started getting aggravated with me because I wouldn't stop moving and screaming. I kept wanting something to drink and my epidural and the nurse said I couldn't until I had my IV in and so I had to be still.

The anesthesiologist came in a few minutes(seemed like hours) later and administered my epidural. I had some crazy reaction to the epidural and thought I was gonna pass out. I thought I was gone then. I freaked my best friend out during the process and I think the nurse too.

Seemed a few minutes later I was pushing. I was 4-5cm. when I got there, then a few minutes later I told them to check me again cause I felt the urge to push, I was then 5-6cm. After the epidural I was complete! Dr. Edmondson let the nurse take over until they could see Camden's head. I pushed probably 7 minutes.

Camden Rhys was born at 10:22p.m. at 8lbs. 12.5oz. and 20in. long. His apgar was 9/9.
